A personal journey of losing a 100lbs. page 2

How do you know when you are ready to change your eating habits to be healthy for the remainder of your life?

I use to be one of those people who poured salad dressing on everything. Whenever I would read a new recipe on the internet, in the back of my mind I was thinking “with a little bit of ranch” We all know there isn’t anything healthy in bottled dressings.

If the first thought you have after seeing or talking about a new eating plan is,
the thought of what you will be missing in food, or wondering how long do I have to do this diet before I can go back to eating the foods I miss then you are not ready.
It is not negotiable,
You
are
not
ready

How do you know when you are ready to change your eating habits to be healthy for the remainder of your life?

You are ready to change your life when you are excited about your new eating plan and you feel confident in knowing that the choices you make today will bring you gratitude for the body you have a years from now.
You
Are
Ready

The feeling of yes I can has to be strong, this feeling is a definite feeling. Example, if you are married or engaged, the moment you felt the love for your partner as in this is the one and only person I can not live without, that is a definite feeling. The same has to be for changing your life. Once this path is chosen it is a lifelong path, call it a love affair with your own health and with love it is daily, persistent, and all powerful.

This past Christmas was my first Christmas eating healthy as an adult. I woke up pleased with myself knowing that no matter what I knew I would make the right food choses and I would feel full and rejoice without eating junk food.  The pleasure of stepping on the scales two days after Christmas and seeing a happy number was priceless. Can you imagine a Christmas where your clothes feel wonderful, and the lightness of not having guilt? Looking back I know I have eaten enough candy bars to last me my entire life. I abused the abundance of junk food in my 20’s. I yoyo dieted in my 30’s. Now in my mid 40’s I am the healthiest I have ever been as an adult. I want you to feel this way about your own health.  My desire for you is have the confidence that anything is possible and that you deserve to have a light and healthy body to live out your days, to take you on adventures, and to give you the energy to give love to the important people in your life, this is the blessing you deserve to feel.
